Measuring Cognitive Decline Using Ethological Principles

2022-Present

Abstract

Using ethological maze and long-term monitoring with computer vision to track cognitive decline in mice. Specifically, looking at aging models and Alzheimer's disease models.

Methodology

Using computer vision methods to capture and analyze mouse behavior within maze. Developing automated systems for detecting subtle changes in behavior patterns & spatial navigation to identify cognitive decline.

Key Findings

Details to come soon.

Implications

This research could be used to analyze cognitive decline across more memory-related diseases, and could be used to test potential treatments. This can also be used in a strain survey to observe the breadth of cognitive decline across different strains at different time points.
